NEW DELHI: Celebrating India's most spectacular wildlife landscape, Discovery Channel will present for its viewers the iconic and landmark series - WILDEST INDIA. The Indian subcontinent features a vast and diverse topography which plays host to a unique ecosystem rich with varied plants, wildlife and people. With this new series, Discovery Channel is hailing India's immense diversity showcasing India's wildlife, secret locations, epic landscapes and colourful beauty.
A five-part series, WILDEST INDIA will premiere as a special marathon on Discovery Channel from 12 noon on January 22, 2012 and will air every Thursday at 8 pm starting January 26, 2012.

The series explores the wildest and most remote parts of India, from the epic Himalayan Mountains, down the mighty River Ganges and across to the lost world of the North East. It will showcase India's amazing wildlife and grand terrains, while bringing to the fore the unique relationship that exists between land, wildlife and human beings in the subcontinent.
Wildest India Episode Descriptions
The Himalayas - The epic Himalayan Mountains form a border between the Indian subcontinent and the rest of Asia. They are the world's tallest mountains, towering more than five miles above sea level. This spectacular "home of snow" cradles amazingly adapted people and very rare wildlife.
Ganges - The mighty River Ganges, lifeblood of India, carves out a dramatic path as it flows right across the subcontinent, from its source high in the western Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal in the east. A rich melting pot of people and wildlife converge on the river's banks and in the waters.
Thar Desert - Thar, the "Great Indian Desert", covers a vast 200,000 square kilometres of dramatic landscape on the India/Pakistan border. Its territory includes much of Rajasthan ("the desert state"), where the bleakness of its environment is juxtaposed with the striking colours of traditional Rajasthani dress and amazing wildlife spectacles.
Seven Sisters of India - Imagine a lost world: Head hunting tribes, tiger infested forests, mountains not yet climbed, rivers waiting to be fished. Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh are carved by sacred Brahmaputra River and home to a rich splendour of amazing tribes and incredible wildlife.
Western Ghats - The Western Ghats, known locally as the Sahyadri Hills, are made up of the Malabar Plains and a continuous chain of mountains running the entire length of India's west coast. This biodiversity hotspot is home to epic waterfalls, hill tribes, hidden caves and stunning wildlife.
