DISCOVERY CHANNEL PRESENTS UNPARALLELED BEAUTY OF INDIA'S WILDERNESS
-Experience the breathtaking wonders that make India incredible -

NEW DELHI: Celebrating India's most spectacular wildlife landscape, Discovery Channel will present for its viewers the iconic and landmark series - WILDEST INDIA. The Indian subcontinent features a vast and diverse topography which plays host to a unique ecosystem rich with varied plants, wildlife and people. With this new series, Discovery Channel is hailing India's immense diversity showcasing India's wildlife, secret locations, epic landscapes and colourful beauty.

A five-part series, WILDEST INDIA will premiere as a special marathon on Discovery Channel from 12 noon on January 22, 2012 and will air every Thursday at 8 pm starting January 26, 2012.

Commenting on the launch of the series, Rahul Johri, senior vice president and general manager, South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific said, "Wildest India will take viewers on a safari around the country without ever having to leave their living rooms. With the unique and distinctive content, Discovery Channel aims to present for its viewers the unseen and enchanting Indian wildlife."

The series explores the wildest and most remote parts of India, from the epic Himalayan Mountains, down the mighty River Ganges and across to the lost world of the North East. It will showcase India's amazing wildlife and grand terrains, while bringing to the fore the unique relationship that exists between land, wildlife and human beings in the subcontinent.

Wildest India Episode Descriptions

The Himalayas - The epic Himalayan Mountains form a border between the Indian subcontinent and the rest of Asia. They are the world's tallest mountains, towering more than five miles above sea level. This spectacular "home of snow" cradles amazingly adapted people and very rare wildlife.

Ganges - The mighty River Ganges, lifeblood of India, carves out a dramatic path as it flows right across the subcontinent, from its source high in the western Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal in the east. A rich melting pot of people and wildlife converge on the river's banks and in the waters.

Thar Desert - Thar, the "Great Indian Desert", covers a vast 200,000 square kilometres of dramatic landscape on the India/Pakistan border. Its territory includes much of Rajasthan ("the desert state"), where the bleakness of its environment is juxtaposed with the striking colours of traditional Rajasthani dress and amazing wildlife spectacles.

Seven Sisters of India - Imagine a lost world: Head hunting tribes, tiger infested forests, mountains not yet climbed, rivers waiting to be fished. Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh are carved by sacred Brahmaputra River and home to a rich splendour of amazing tribes and incredible wildlife.

Western Ghats - The Western Ghats, known locally as the Sahyadri Hills, are made up of the Malabar Plains and a continuous chain of mountains running the entire length of India's west coast. This biodiversity hotspot is home to epic waterfalls, hill tribes, hidden caves and stunning wildlife.

Ex.FM Music Discovery Service With A Twist

Most music discovery services let you only play music that they have available in their databases or on their servers. That’s great and all but may be limiting at times. Ex.FM offers a solution. The web service at its core is still a music discovery service, with the difference that it will pick up music that you find on third party sites as long as you have one of the browser extensions installed.

Lets take a closer look at how this works. The extension, available for the Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome web browser picks up mp3 files automatically that you happen to stumble upon on the Internet. This is automatic, and a player is displayed at the bottom of the browser window to play those songs directly on the page. Registered users get the additional benefit that discovered music is saved so that they can open it at anytime on the Ex.FM website.

The service works well with popular music sites such as Bandcamp, Soundcloud, the Live Music Archive or music blogs hosted on Tumblr. Songs are picked up automatically even if you do not play the songs on the site. They are then sorted automatically by site > artist and album on the Exfm website.

You can click on the extension icon to bring up the current music queue that offers all the options you would expect from a music player (back, forward, pause, stop volume).

If you do not want to look for music by yourself, you can use the trending and explore options on the site to get your daily music fix.

Trending displays the top 20 tracks of the last 24 hours on Ex.FM.

The explore section on the site offers several options:

Site of the day – A new site every day that posts publicly accessible mp3 music.Genres – Pick a genre and get a selection of music that other users have found.Featured Album – A favorite editor picked album of the day.Tastemakers – Music discovered by popular Ex.FM members is posted here.Monthly Mixtape – A hand picked mixtape that changes monthly.Latest loved – Realtime music discovery, again from other users of the site.

The extensions are not needed to use the service. You can visit the service to access both the trending and explore sections of the site.

If you like to discover new music, or are simply looking for a versatile web music player that picks up songs that you find on web pages automatically, then you should take a closer look at Exfm. And since it is all about direct mp3 links, you won’t encounter country restrictions like you would with other services or players. Thumbs up!
