The Best Football Book - READ ON for a buyers guide to Football Books For Kids

I realisenot all footie supporters are the same, but for me, a Personalised Football Book can be an amazing present for my Birthday. The Best Football Book in my opinion would be one on Brighton, or maybe Southend United (my local professional side growing up). At that stage, there was far fewer choices in Football Books For Kids than there is now. Having said that, the range and variety of Football reading matter is crazy nowadays.

I am in no way a genius, but I do love reading if it is on a thing I am in love with. I can not simply read for the sake of it, there has to be a pre-determined idea of love for me. However, when it comes to Southend United, I am highly interested. It is nice to discover new information about the history of the team that I love and I am certain that fans of all other teams feel the exact same. The beautiful game is a worldwide phenomenon, with a fan base in the billions. There are more professional teams than I could even guess at, and an even larger number of semi - pro and amateur teams. It is a truelly interactive game that anyone can be a part of. As a very real team game, it brings fans together and unites them in a common cause. Football can provide a topic of conversation or debate that can, and often will, last for days...quite possibly never actually coming to a complete conclusion! Probably the most amazing fact about Football is that all age ranges can be part of it. I fell in love with Football at 18 monthes, when I saw my first live game at White Hart Lane. Tottenham Hotspur battered Coventry City 3-2 in an truelly entertaining game.

For anyone who knows anything at all about Tottenham Hotpsur, they will tell you that there is very rarely an unentertaining game at the Lane! For whatever reason, Tottenham Hotspur has always played a highly entertaining style of Football. This may sound good for the Tottenham Hotspur fan, but trust me it has not been all smiles! In fact, until Harry Redknapp took charge, it has been alot of tears. Yes, the games were always entertaining and there have always been guaranteed goals, but often the majority would go to the opposition.

Martin Jol did a very good job providing a more stable back line during his tenure, bringing us to the dizzy heights of 5th spot in his first season and very nearly 4th in his second season. If we had not been nobbled at the hotel prior to the West Ham game on the final day of the season, with the team being poisoned from their dinners the night before the game, then we would have taken all three points at Upton Park and finished 4th above the Gooners. However, cheating provailed that season, and Arsenil took 4th. It is a different story this season though, with both Arsenal and Chelsea trailing in the Tottenham Hotspur wake haha.

Harry Redknapp is a true legend and it will be interesting to see who takes over from him. It needs to be someone pretty special to continue pushing Tottenham Hotspur foward. My personal choice would have to be Brendan Rodgers.

That man is heading for big big things!!

The Football Stop has a massive range of Football Books for a multitude of clubs, both British and worldwide.

Using Bitlocker in Windows (Best Practice Guide)

If you use a laptop for work, or it you carry important or sensitive data with you then it should be encrypted.  Put simply the repercussions of not using encryption are far too serious to imagine with substantial fines being probably the least significant to a loss of customer and market confidence being the worst.  For a small company though the fines for not complying properly with data protection regulations and leaving information “in the open” can shut a company down.  For the individual you could find that suddenly everything a criminal needs to steal your identity is in the public domain.

Note: Bitlocker can be found in Windows Vista and Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate editions

There are various encryption technologies available, many great ones for free, but it is becoming more common now for laptops to ship with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chips.  These chips help store encryption keys for Microsoft’s Bitlocker full-disk encryption technology.  Using Bitlocker means that even if a hard disk is physically removed from a computer, the data can never be accessed as the TPM chip on the computer’s motherboard isn’t able to verify the unlock password.

Bitlocker is a highly effective technology but like all encryption it needs to be used with care.  If you have a TPM chip on your computer’s motherboard then the full Bitlocker options are available to you and it is very easy to set up.  In the main Bitlocker window you can choose which drives you want to encrypt.  The main OS drive will always need to be encrypted so you will need to do this first, you cannot encrypt any secondary drives unless the main drive containing your copy of Windows is encrypted first.

Note: Bitlocker does not support dual-boot systems and you will find yourself locked out of your computer regularly under this circumstance.

As with most encryption technologies you will need to keep a copy of your unlock key.  In Windows Vista and Windows 7 you have the choice of keeping it on a USB Pen Drive, as a file or to print it.  Windows 8 adds the option of saving it to SkyDrive.

My personal recommendation, as someone who has used Bitlocker and even been locked out of my own computer by it due to a Startup fault with Windows, is that you should always keep a copy on a USB Pen Drive and a secondary copy in the cloud on a service such as SkyDrive.  If you have a problem starting Windows for whatever reason, as I once did, you will be completely locked out of your computer unless you provide the proper unlock key(s); there will be one for each drive that is encrypted.  You should keep this Pen Drive safe and carry it with you when you go away just in case (though it should always) be kept separate to your laptop for obvious reasons.

The copy in the cloud is there just in case you forget it, lose the Pen Drive or delete the key accidentally.  From the cloud you can download a copy to another Pen Drive that you can then use to start your computer.

Bitlocker also offers additional security options that you might want to consider.  These include automatically unlocking drives when a user logs onto Windows.  If you know the password to access Windows, and that password is itself secure (usually a minimum of 10 characters and a mixture of upper and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols) then this will normally suffice.

For drives containing particularly sensitive data however you can set Bitlocker to require an additional password to unlock the drive, or to require the use of a smart card, if supported by your hardware with a slot loading or contactless smart card reader, to gain access.  This can provide an additional level of security that might be very useful for research, military, health, financial or governmental use.

Remember that if you ever lose your Bitlocker encryption key file(s) you can go back into Bitlocker in Windows and save addition copies.  If you do not then you face the prospect of being locked out of your data forever.  Thus it is always important to use any encryption technology in conjunction with a secure but unencrypted backup.  This might seem folly, but there are ample ways these days to keep very secure backups without them requiring encryption.  Don’t forget that almost no desktop PCs come with TPM chips and neither support nor require the full features of Bitlocker.

As an encryption technology Bitlocker is incredibly secure and for laptops it should be mandated in business.  If your company is buying new or additional laptops soon, then a TPM chip should be very high up on the list of purchasing priorities for each one.  If you use a laptop at home that you carry out and about and can afford the price premium that a TPM chip costs, then the use of Bitlocker is both incredibly simple to use and worth every extra penny for the peace of mind.

Lots of Wizard Leveling Guides have the a couple of of these things yet few of them cover all six equally, largely simply because they run out of the time or simply don't have that good of the mastery over the leveling process. But, if you select a Wizard Leveling Guide for your character, you want one which has them all since the entire leveling process involves each one of these things.

You need a properly spec-ed character to make sure you stay alive, based on your difficulty level. That's a lot of stuff and many Wizard Leveling Guides just cover some of it and usually very briefly.

A User's Guide on How to Conduct a Blackberry Unlock

Before, cell phone users only had two features in mind when acquiring a phone: voice and text messaging. Those days, however, are gone. Now, most people won't even give such generic mobile devices a second look. Matter of fact, they might be obsolete because smart phones have taken over the market. The Blackberry, to be particular, is one that has a large fan and user base. These products often cost a great deal of money. Hence, carriers in different countries sell them in locked contracts to recoup the investments they have made. If you are among the many users of the Blackberry, you may well be acquainted with the very idea of Blackberry unlock.

The BB (as it is affectionately referred to by loyal users), is one of the most in-demand mobile devices nowadays. Many people are not aware of it, but a Canadian company is in charge of the product's development and production. The name of this firm is Research in Motion (RIM), and its base of operations is in Ontario. Their goods are often significantly costly, and providers take advantage of this by locking the phones to their network. This is the reason a lot of people are searching for a Blackberry unlock code.

Locked Mobile Phones

Mobile devices are "locked" if a specific carrier places in a setting preventing its use in a different network or country. Keep in mind that providers do this to get back their initial investments. These companies increase sales by giving the phone free with one of their plans. You must note, though, that these plans normally last two to three years. BBs will often be marketed this way as it is one of the more costly and popular brands. Fortunately, for those who want to switch networks or use their phones abroad, you can find different Blackberry unlock techniques. A Blackberry unlock code is a wonderful way to get out of a demanding contract.

How to Check if Your Phone is Locked

Those interested to learn about the status of their phones may do so themselves. Most people, however, are scared to do so for fear of legal repercussions. What you should remember is that unlocking your BB is a legal activity. Neither could it void the warranty. It is better, however, if users check with the claim that comes with the phone. You may also call RIM customer service or send an email.

There are two ways to unlock the device. The first is by way of your network provider. The only problem with doing this, however, is the cost could add up. In most cases, doing so can result in the full payment of your phone. Carriers do that because they know from the start that customers will most likely switch to a different network.

The more sensible way to get a Blackberry unlock code is via a trusted online site that offers the service. You simply have to go online to find a business that performs this. Be a smart internet user and look through all your options before choosing. This will save you from any possible scams. After your BB is unlocked, you could move to a different service provider, use your phone abroad, or sell it at a high price.

For Expats in Manila - A Guide to Why You Must Live in a Makati Condo or Apartment

Living in the Philippines certainly has its rewards. Manila is one of the oldest cities in Southeast Asia, and it's one of the most thriving in the region too. An intriguing thing about Manila is that apart from the capital, it may also refer to other parts of the metropolitan area. This includes cities such as Pasay, Paranaque, Quezon City, and thirteen others. Of all the urban areas, however, Makati is the most prominent since it is home to the country's Central Business District. If you're looking for a place to live in the Philippines, this may have to be it. This article is a guide to why you should live in a Makati condo, apartment, or home; and ways to look for the best one.

Why Makati?

Locals and foreigners alike recognize Makati for its cosmopolitan culture. This is the reason why a lot of expatriates like to live and work in the city. It is where you can find a wide array of commercial establishments that is probably the most diverse in the entire country. Examples of these are the Ayala Center, found at the corners of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA, Metro Manila's main thoroughfare) and Ayala Avenue. This extensive block features a number of shopping malls that appeal to the needs of all shoppers.

While on the topic of Ayala Avenue, here is the country's most prime stretch of real estate. You may even compare it to Orchard Road in Singapore, or Wall Street in New York. Offices and residential units in this area will probably cost you a substantial amount of money. If you are searching for a reasonably priced condominium unit or apartment for rent in Makati, it would probably be easier for you to take a look at nearby areas.

Aside from the shopping, another great draw to the city is its culture. Various districts accommodate different tastes. For instance, Jupiter Avenue accommodates the young and hip crowd with its various bars and restaurants. Pasong Tamo, however, caters to the East Asian expat community and could even be Manila's Little Japan. Malugay Street in the San Antonio area of the city plays host to The Collective, an establishment that accommodates the underground and indie art scene.

Where can I live in the city?

Those who are serious about moving to the city have lots of options, whether it be a Makati condo, apartment, or residence. For example, the Rockwell Center is a growing community located only a few minutes away from the central business district. This area contains the Bel-Air subdivision, along with a number of high-rise buildings which have condominium units and apartments. If you are more partial to an actual house, there are several places to pick from like Magallanes, Dasmarinas, Urdaneta, and San Lorenzo villages.

Most expats to the country, however, choose to live in a Makati condo, reason being that it's far more convenient and accessible to different attractions in the city. If making your way around is your concern, don't worry as there are many forms of public transportation available.

Looking for a condo, house, or apartment for rent in Makati is easy. Rather than going all over the city, use a website to locate a home that will fit your taste and budget.

Google recently revealed the plan to merge the privacy policies and terms of service for most of the company’s products. This move gives all Google services direct access to all user data. Google search for instance can take into account what kind of emails a user gets in Gmail to personalize the search results based on that. This even goes further for Android phone users, who may now reveal their favorite restaurants, shops and locations to all other Google services.

A new post by Microsoft employee Dharmesh Mehta on the Inside Windows Live blog highlights core reasons why users might want to switch from Gmail to Hotmail, before explaining the actual steps that migrates their email account to the Hotmail email service.

Hotmail & Facebook work well together. You can update your Facebook status, chat with Facebook friends, view their updates, and comment right from your Hotmail inbox. You can’t do this from Gmail. You can easily share lots of photos and large attachments. Hotmail lets you share hundreds of photos or other files in one message using the integrated online storage from SkyDrive. You can’t do this in Gmail.Hotmail works great with Office. Using the Office Web Apps, Hotmail lets you view and edit Office docs for free right in your inbox. Gmail doesn’t work well with Office.Hotmail lets you get a handle on graymail. With customizable categories and scheduled sweeps, you can quickly clean up things like newsletters, social updates, and daily deals so you only see the mail that really matters to you. Gmail doesn’t have Sweep.

These features alone won’t convince many users to move their email account to Hotmail. Combined with Google’s announcement however they could be enough to get some users to move their accounts.

It needs to be noted though that Gmail offers features that Hotmail does not offer. This includes IMAP support or two step authentication, both of which are not supported by Hotmail.

The guide to switch from Gmail to Hotmail lists three steps.

Create a Hotmail account. If you don’t already have one, you need to create a Hotmail account. The best way to do this is to get a new email address either @hotmail.com or @live.com. Or, if you already have an email address you want to keep using, you can keep using it and sign up here. You don’t have to use our domain.Import your old messages from Gmail. You’ll probably want to keep your old email and contacts so we’ve made it simple to bring them in. TrueSwitch is an easy tool which will import your email and contacts and forward any new email to Hotmail for 90 days. Go to the TrueSwitch site and follow the steps there. When you sign back in to Hotmail, you’ll notice that it’s beginning to import your emails (this could take a few hours if you have a lot of emails to bring over).Connect your Gmail account. This step is optional, but if you want to make sure you receive future messages from Gmail, you can have Hotmail automatically get all new emails that are sent to your old Gmail account. These are the steps to connect your accounts:
a. In your inbox, click Options and then More options.

b. Click Sending/receiving email from other accounts.

c. Click Add an email account.

d. Provide your Gmail account details.

Step 2 and 3 address core issues that users who move mail accounts want resolved before they even start thinking about it. Access to all previous mail messages and the forwarding of messages that are send to the old account are covered in those two steps.

Are you considering moving your Gmail account to another provider?

Whether your house or business needs help with a small or large project, it will be wise to seek out help from the professionals. Here area couple of the most common projects that a company can take on.

Used Oil Removal

Waste oil collection is important because it presents a very serious threat. If left alone, underground tanks can corrode and its contents may leak. Leakage can cause damage to the surrounding environment, particularly the soil around it. This may also be the cause for emission of toxic fumes. Removal of this hazardous material is vital as it could cause harm to you, your family, or your employees. Moreover, you would not want government agencies knocking on the door to get fees for breaking environmental laws.

Mold Elimination

Molds may look like a simple problem, but a contamination could have really serious health effects. These microscopic fungi grow on carpet, wood, clothes, food, insulation as well as any surface or substance where moisture and oxygen are present. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) suggests handling such problems immediately.

When looking for a company to offer environmental services for your home or business, you will need to hunt for these qualities.

Permits and Certification

In the United States, regulation of waste management services falls under state and federal agencies. In New York, for instance, companies have to satisfy the standards of the state's Department of Environmental Conservation. Its federal counterpart is the EPA. These government agencies are accountable for evaluating the capability of a company and giving the proper licenses. The firm you're employing must conform to these standards, whether or not they transport the hazardous waste or are a treatment, storage, and disposal facility.

OSHA - HAZWOPER Training

This is short for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration - Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response Standard. Training and certification from this organization is essential as they are the only government entity that provides strict training for people who handle dangerous materials. Do not forget that these days, compliance is not an option; it's a necessity. Companies must match certain standards to ensure the safety of your house or business.

Modern Equipment and Procedures

Environmental services change in line with the needs of a community. Consequently, not all tools and courses of action will always be the same. Firms need to be able to address current needs while having foresight to avoid any problems that might appear tomorrow. Furthermore, there are industry standards that they have to follow. Apart from observing the guidelines supplied by these organizations, they need to also use tools that are effective and up to date.

How to Write a Windows 8 Book, a Quick Guide

Yesterday I threw down the gauntlet to any gHacks reader who might want to write a Windows 8 book, perhaps with the long term goal of signing your own book deal with a big name tech publisher.  You can read my article here.  Lee Whittington made a very interesting comment…

I have been turning the idea in my head on writing a Windows 8 Book and aside from writing the book I have no idea where to go from there. You would think with all the information you can find on the internet, you would find everything you need. Lately though, the overabundance of information has actually become an issue, leaving me with alot of information but nothing that really helps.

This is a very good point, that many people who would want to write a Windows 8 book might not have a clue where to start.  I thought then that I’d follow up yesterday’s article with a guide to doing exactly that and getting started writing.

The first and most important decision to make, as it will influence everything else, is who your intended audience will be.  Who it is you’re writing the book for will determine what type of language you use, the types of images and annotations you use, and how many, and how long and detailed the book might turn out to be.

For example, if you want to write for complete beginners, perhaps something for family and friends and people you provide tech support for, then the tone would be warm and friendly, with an absence of jargon and with every technical word you must use clearly explained at the time.  You will probably want to use a lot of colourful screenshots, with many annotations so that it is very clear to readers what they’re looking at.  You would also want to use a fair few numbered and step by step guides that will help people perform tasks.  Lastly the content for this audience will largely fall around using the new Metro interface, downloading and installing apps and keeping things ticking over easily and quickly.  After all, people in this category simply don’t want to hear anything about installing Windows or the Control Panel, it’s just too complex for many of them.

We move on from there with more business-centric users, perhaps people in your workplace more interested in how to keep working on the desktop and what new productivity and power-saving features are available for them.  Enthusiasts will want to know how to install Windows 8 in different ways and how to configure it, with little in-depth hints and tips to help them get the best from it, and so on.

Now that you’ve determined who your audience will be you need to decide how big the book will be and what the content will be.  A book for newbies would be relatively short, perhaps between 50 and 100 pages, while one for business users might not be much longer and one for enthusiasts might run to 200 or even 400 pages.  It’s important when writing for the first time, especially when you have all your formatting, page layout and editing to do as well not to set yourself a goal that’s too high.  I found 170 pages when writing the Windows 7 Power Users Guide gruelling while also holding down a full time job.  By the time I wrote the 500 page Troubleshooting Windows 7 Inside Out I was down to working only two days a week and writing the rest of the time.  There simply was no other way to do it.

With your page count in mind you should set about writing a draft table of contents, making sure that the page count is foremost in your mind all the time.  Think about how many paragraphs or pages it will take to decribe or walk people through specific subjects and use this as a basis for getting the content to fit your book.

It’s common to write a book in Microsoft Word, after all it’s a writing tool, but Word and other word processors can be limiting in the page formatting they allow you to do.  I used Microsoft Publisher to write the Windows 7 Power Users Guide after quickly realising that I couldn’t do something “visually appealing” enough in Word.  Using a desktop publishing package does present its own challenges with text run on from one page to another difficult among other problems.  Using DTP software though can make for a much more engaging book.  All that said there’s nothing wrong with using Word and some of the advanced layout and imaging tools available can make for very eye-catching designs.  The layout and design can be a slow process to get right however and on the Windows 7 Power Users Guide probably one-third of the three months it took me to write was spent getting the formatting correct.

One very important part though will be the option to either export of print your file as a PDF.  There are many free PDF writers out there, some of which will also export as other eBook formats, but having written your book you’ll want people to be able to read it in a non-editable format.

This is a short and probably simplistic way to look at how you can start writing your book.  It all comes from the planning, and that is why this article has focused so much on that.  Spend time getting your table of contents, page layout, design and voice correct and the rest will fall into place reasonably naturally afterwards.  So good luck and let us know here at gHacks if you release a Windows 8 book on the Internet.
