Cool Hallowen Costumes for 2012

As the world turns, another Halloween beckons. It's time for you to pick out your costume for the October 31st celebrations. When it comes to Halloween costumes, it is usually vampires, zombies and witches that light a bulb. However, this year things are a tad bit different, as people are carving out costume ideas from movies that scored big time in Tinsel town.

You probably know most (if not all) of them. The movies include: The Dark Knight Rises, The Hunger Games, Snow White and the Huntsman,The Amazing Spiderman, The Avengers (my favourite), and The Cabin in the Woods. These movies were cinematic monsters in 2012. And because of this, almost every man, woman, kid and even the household pet wants to play Batman's arch-enemy, Bane or Snow White's wicked step-mother, Queen Ravenna at this year's Halloween.

Most Halloween costume shops have witnessed a surge in sales for outfits from 2012's movie mayhem. There are still some classics like Harry Potter and other popular characters from Disney or Pixar Pictures that will still make this year's costume cut. But without a doubt, this year belongs to the heavyweights from Hollywood. Their licensed costumes have been flying off the shelves, faster than choc boxes on Valentine's Day.

Halloween and Hollywood are best buddies in 2012. This is not the first time this is happening and definitely would not be the last. Since many of these movies hits have been prepped up for further sequels in the oncoming years. It is to be expected that people would still be gearing up to resemble their favourite movie characters in the future. If you are looking for extra pointers this Halloween season, the all roads lead to Hollywood!

It's an open secret that Halloween trends are dictated by popular culture and current events. This year that trend is even stronger because of the success these movies have garnered, box-office records they have smashed and the crazy following they have gathered.

Many online retail stores testify that the best Halloween costumes this year come from these movies with characters that are obvious in their attire. So if you want to pop into that party, looking like one of the nameless aliens from Battleship, good luck to you. It would be a miracle if anyone recognizes you.

So if you are looking for a buzz costume this Halloween, here are some character impersonations that would work. You turning up as Effie Trinket, all tough and scruffy complete with a banged up bow with quiver of arrows. If you choose to mask up as any of the world's mightiest heroes, (especially Iron Man or the sexy Catwoman) you will definitely draw more than a few heads in your direction this October and probably even after that.
